(WNFL) – A double by Avisail Garcia in the 10th inning put the broke a 4-4 tie in the 10th inning and propelled the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago on Saturday.
Garcia’s double scored Christian Yelich who was the Brewers’ automatic runner who was at second base.
Luis Urias added an infield single later in the inning to score another run.
Garcia’s double came off of former Milwaukee pitcher Jeremy Jeffress.
Alex Claudio who allowed a run-scoring groundout to Ian Happ retired three batters to get the save.
David Phelps who pitched the ninth inning for the Brewers got the win.
Anthony Rizzo had a home run and three hits for the Cubs while Steve Souza Jr. had his first home run in nearly two years. Happ had a pair of doubles.
