(WNFL)- Marco Estrada is 3-and-1 in his last six starts, and he hopes to improve on that mark tonight when the Milwaukee Brewers open a home series against the Chicago Cubs. The right-hander Estrada is 4-and-2 overall, with a 3.99 ERA. He has given up 16 homers this season, the most in the Majors. But Estrada has received lots of run support in his last six outings. The Brewer offense has averaged six-and-a-half runs per nine innings when Estrada's on the mound. He has thrown 13 gopher balls in that stretch -- but they didn't get a lot of notice, thanks to the solid Milwaukee offense. Meanwhile, Cubs' left-hander Travis Wood will try to win his fifth straight game this month. He's 5-and-4 overall, with an E-R-A of just over four-and-a-third. The Cub offense has been kind to him, averaging five-and-two-thirds runs for every nine innings Wood has pitched. He surrendered just two runs and three hits in his last start, a seven-and-a-third inning performance at San Diego.
