(WNFL)- Former Green Bay Packers' receiver Sterling Sharpe was named today to the College Football Hall of Fame, for his accomplishments at South Carolina. The 49-year-old Sharpe was among 14 players and two coaches selected. They'll be inducted December 9th at a banquet in New York. Sharpe set virtually all school receiving records at the University of South Carolina, and was a first-time All-American in his senior year in 1987. The Packers drafted him that year with the seventh overall pick in the first round. He played seven seasons in Green Bay before a severe stinger ended his career near the end of the 1994 season. Sharpe is currently a studio analyst for the NFL Network.
