Home invasion in Kewuanee County

ALGOMA, WI (WTAQ) - The search is on for two suspects in a Kewaunee County home invasion.

The incident happened at 3:45 a.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of Jefferson Street in Algoma.

The homeowner confronted one of the suspects inside his kitchen. They wrestled out onto the lawn, where the second suspect got involved. At that point, the homeowner's dog, a German Shepherd named Scout, went on the attack. That's when the suspects fled the scene.

The man who lives at the home tells FOX 11 he was stabbed with a knife. The victim and investigators don’t know why they broke in.

Police say both suspects are white males between the ages of 16 and 23.

One suspect may have facial injuries from the break-in. He’s described as 5’10″-6’0″ tall and 180-200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue cargo pants.

The other suspect may have a dog bite on his left arm. He’s described as 5’6″-5’10″ tall and 160-175 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing.

Police don't feel that the community is at risk even though the suspects remain at large. Residents are reminded to always lock their homes and cars every night.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Algoma Police Department at (920) 487-3311 or the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department at (920) 388-7108.

Crimestoppers is offering a $250 reward for more information leading to an arrest and conviction.
