APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - An Appleton man suffered life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a car while riding on a motorcycle.

That crash happened at the intersection of N. Meade Street and E. Glendale Avenue just before 11 a.m. Wednesday. The scene is near Appleton Medical Center.

Officers say that a car driving southbound on Meade was hit the motorcycle, which was traveling northbound, while attempting to turn on to Glendale.

The 38-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his bike. He wasn't wearing a helmet at the time. The man is being treated for serious head and body injuries.

The car was driven by a 94-year-old Appleton woman. She was not hurt.

No citations have been issued and the investigation is ongoing.
