LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. (WXPR) -- A Lac du Flambeau drug overdose death has led to six arrests. The 54-year-old woman died March 3rd. Tribal police report they were called that afternoon and found the woman unresponsive. Attempts were made to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The next day, Lac du Flambeau police and state Justice Department investigators executed search warrants which led to the arrests. All six people arrested are being charged with heroin distribution.
Police Chief Robert Brandenburg was not available for comment Friday, but thanked many agencies who assisted in the investigation and the medical personnel in a press release.
