BELLEVUE, WI (WTAQ) - The Brown County Sheriff's Department says that drug arrests have nearly doubled since 2008.
On Tuesday, the department released its 2013 Drug Task Force Report. Last year, agents made 659 arrests, which is up 7 percent from 2012.
The largest category of arrests continues to be marijuana, but authorities say the increase in heroin and methamphetamine use is the greatest concern.
While arrests are on the rise, task force officials say the numbers of tips are also going up. In 2013, over 825 tips were received.
