MENASHA, WI (WTAQ) - Contractors are meeting Monday to discuss repairs to the Menasha locks, after it was shut down to boat traffic over the weekend.
The upper hinge on one of the downstream lock doors failed on Friday, according to the Fox River Navigational System Authority's website.
The gate is currently upright and secured against falling. The hinge failed without warning when the door was almost completely open.
There will be no boat traffic through the Menasha Lock to Lake Winnebago until repairs can be safely made.
