Kewaskum Superintendent says community "in shock" over students killed in crash

KEWASKUM, WI (WTAQ) - Kewaskum School Superintendent Jim Smasal says the community is "in a bit of shock," after a pair of 16-year-old high school students died in a car crash.

Senior Travis Trapp and junior Brent Schultz were killed Wednesday morning. The State Patrol said their car crossed a center on a county road, and ran into an oncoming Washington County sheriff's car.

Deputy Jesse Williams was treated for minor injuries.

Counselors were available at Kewaskum High Thursday, and they're back Friday. Summer school continued as scheduled Thursday.

Smasal said it was important, because people need a place where they can ask questions -- or just share what's on their minds.
