MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - A husband and wife from far northern Wisconsin will be sentenced August 22nd, after pleading guilty to having thousands of dollars worth of prescription painkillers.
27-year-old Andrew Meshigaud and 25-year-old Charlie Sunn Meshigaud, both of Lac du Flambeau, entered their pleas in federal court in Madison Wednesday. Both were convicted of possessing Oxycodone with the intent to sell it.
Prosecutors said the couple made several trips to Milwaukee to obtain their products, after wiring over $50,000 to the seller of their 30-milligram pills.
The arrests came after an investigation by the state Justice Department, Oneida and Vilas county deputies, and Lac du Flambeau tribal police.
