GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The 38th annual Bellin Run took place Saturday, as thousands of runners will hit the streets of Green Bay and Allouez.
It's one of the largest 10K races in the U.S.
Some runners finished right before 8:30 a.m. The overall winner is Allan Kiprono of Kenya with a time of 28:41. It's his third Bellin Run win.
The women’s winner is Risper Gesabwa, also from Kenya. Her time was 32:53.
According to race officials, 18,213 people registered for this year's race. That's down from the 20,000 record set in 2013.
Among the elite runners participating in the Bellin Run is this year’s Boston Marathon winner Meb Keflezighi.
Last year’s top two finishers in both the men’s and women’s fields will also be back.
Lani Rutto Kiplagat and Allan Kiprono finished one and two in the men’s division last year. Kiplagat grabbed the top spot with a time of 29:12.
In the elite women’s field, Risper Gesabwa and Millicent Kuria will be returning after finishing in first and second place last year. Gesawba’s 2013 win was her second consecutive win. Her time was 32:58.
