The field is set for the WIAA state baseball tournament beginning next Tuesday at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute. Sectional champions were crowned yesterday. In Division 1, the Bay Port Pirates defeated Fox River Classic Conference rival Ashwaubenon 6-3 to reach state for the third straight year and their 10th trip since 1998. Kimberly knocked out West DePere 5-1 to advance with their seventh straight win. In Division 2, Green Bay Notre Dame trailed Freedom 4-1 before rallying to an 8-4 victory. The Tritons will make their second straight apperance, going all the way to the title game last spring. Notre Dame barely got by Mosinee in the semifinal game earlier in the day, winning 2-1 thanks to a walk off, wild pitch in the bottom of the 7th. Oconto won a sectional title in Division 3, beating Weyauwega-Fremont 4-0 behind a complete game, two hitter from Kyle Krueger. Racine St. Catherine eliminated Gibralter/Washington Island a step away from state 3-2. In Division 4, Pittsville advanced with a 3-2 victory over Wausaukee.
