The Green Bay Gamblers promoted from within to replace Head Coach and General Manager Derek LaLonde who left the team after three seasons to become the Head Coach of the Toledo Walleye of the East Coast Hockey League. LaLonde's chief assistant the pas three years, Pat Mikesch, was introduced as the 7th head coach in franchise history on Thursday. Mikesch is a former USHL player who won the Clark Cup title as captain of the Des Moines Buccaneers. He was a four year star and former captain at Michigan Tech. Mikesch was also in charge of player procurement for the Gamblers, handling the draft each of the past three seasons. He also coached the United States U17 junior team to three straight Gold Medals in the Five Nations Cup tournament, going 15-0-0 over that time.
