Derek LaLonde is leaving the Green Bay Gamblers after three seasons as head coach and general manager. LaLonde will be introduced as the new head coach of the Toledo Walleye of the East Coast Hockey League this morning in Ohio. Toledo is a professional minor league franchise affiliated with the Detroit Red Wings. LaLonde's record in Green Bay was 125-64-14. He was named the USHL Coach of the Year in his first season when he led the Gamblers to a record breaking 47-9-4 regular season record and the Clark Cup playoff championship. LaLonde guided the Gamblers to playoff berths in each of the past 2 years but Green Bay was eliminated in the first round, this season by the eventual league champion Indiana Ice. A search will begin immdiately for the 7th head coach in Gamblers history.
