Brewers open series against the Twins tonight

(WNFL)- The Milwaukee Brewers will open a four-game, home-and-home Interleague series with the Minnesota Twins tonight. The first two contests will be at Miller Park. And then the series will shift to Minneapolis for the final two games Wednesday and Thursday. The Brewers extended their lead in the National League Central Division to four games, after crushing the Chicago Cubs 9-to-0 yesterday. Kyle Lohse tossed a three-hitter, as the Crew won its fourth contest in its last five. The Brewers have stepped up their clutch hitting. They're 16-for-41 with runners in scoring position in their last five games, while averaging seven runs in those outings. Ryan Braun appears to be getting over his rib-cage problem, with 14 hits in his last 28 at-bats. Seven of those hits were for extra bases, including two homers. Twins' fans will again get to see their former center-fielder Carlos Gomez. Since he was dealt to Milwaukee in 2010, Gomez has batted .385 in 15 games against Minnesota, with five homers and 11 RBI's. Despite a shaky May, Milwaukee remains 11 games over .500 at 34-and-23. The Twins are at 26-and-28, after taking two-of-three from the Yankees in the Bronx. Right-hander Matt Garza will start for the Crew tonight against Twins' righty Kyle Gibson.
