(WNFL)- Catcher Jonathan Lucroy has been named the Brewers' winner of the "Heart and Hustle Award" by the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. The award recognizes current players who show a passion for the game, and embody its values and tradition. It's baseball's only award that's selected by former players. Lucroy has been a workhorse for Milwaukee this season, leading the team by playing in 93 of its 101 games. He was among the National League's hitting leaders after batting .359 in June. But until last night, Lucroy was only hitting .164 this month, with just three hits in his last 30 at-bats. He hit a pair of solo homers last night, including the game-winner in the ninth which gave the Crew a win over Cincinnati and improved Milwaukee to 3-2 since the All-Star break.
