HUDSON, WI (WTAQ) - One of the major bridges between northwest Wisconsin and Minnesota will reopen Wednesday, after being closed for a week-and-a-half.
The low-resting Stillwater Lift Bridge was shut down June 23rd due to high waters on the St. Croix River north of Hudson. Officials say it will re-open to traffic at 4 p.m.
Its normal lift schedule will run through Friday night, when it will stay down to accommodate Stillwater's Fourth of July celebration.
The bridge's re-opening is good news for thousands of Wisconsinites who use it to get to work each day in Minnesota's Twin Cities' metro.
For now, they've been using either the Interstate 94 bridge at Hudson, or a bridge to the north at Osceola.
