ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) - The Village of Ashwaubenon's Plan Commission is meeting Tuesday to discuss a plan to rename part of Potts Avenue in honor of Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy.
The change would impact a one-mile stretch of Potts Ave., from Oneida Street east to Ashland Avenue, and be named Mike McCarthy Way.
Its part of an ongoing discussion involving the community and leaders in Ashwaubenon, Green Bay and De Pere after the Packers won Super Bowl 45.
Village of Ashwaubenon President Mike Aubinger thinks this current plan makes sense.
“This area is in an area of transition, so there are some blank buildings and there are buildings that are going to change rapidly, so we thought this would be the best area,” Aubinger told FOX 11.
He estimates it would cost the village about $500 to $1,000 to change the street signs.
