The Green Bay Phoenix 12 game winning streak came to an end at Valparaiso Wednesday night, falling to the Crusaders 75-60. Green Bay played without senior center Alec Brown for the first time in his career. The 7-1 center had played in 116 consecutive games before spraining his shoulder last Sunday. His absence was noticeable. Kiefer Sykes was the only Green Bay player to score in double figures with 19. The Phoenix trailed 42-29 at the half and never threatened. They shot 38.3% from the floor while Valparaiso made 58.7% of their shots. Lavonte Dority led all scorers with 26. Green Bay is now 17-4 overall and 7-1 in the Horizon League, still holding a two game lead at the halfway point of the conference season. The Phoenix will return home to host Wright State at the Resch Center Saturday evening at 5:00 PM.
