Crash between New London and Clintonville injures three

NEW LONDON, Wis. (WSAU) -- A two-vehicle crash has left three people injured, and one of them has life-threatening injuries.

Waupaca County sheriff’s deputy Nick Traeger says the crash happened between New London and Clintonville on Highway 45 at 5:50 p.m. near Fitzgerald Road. A northbound vehicle spun out of control and stopped sideways in the southbound lane. A southbound vehicle then struck the sideways vehicle on the driver’s side.

The driver of the southbound car and the passenger of the northbound car were taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the spunout northbound car was airlifted to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.

Names have not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by Theda Star Helicopter, Clintonville Ambulance and First Responders, Bear Creek firefighters, and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
