CHIPPEWA FALLS, WI (WTAQ) - A Chippewa County woman will be sentenced April 10th, for killing a dentist while driving drunk.
28-year-old Krista Holler of Cadott struck a plea deal. She pleaded guilty Thursday to homicide by OWI. Three related counts were dropped.
71-year-old dentist Robert Tschabrun of Stanley was riding a bicycle on a rural road at 5 a.m. last June 1st, when he was struck and killed by a car driven by Holler -- who turned herself in two days later.
A sheriff's investigator testified that Holler left work and went to a tavern where her cousin was having a birthday party. She told officers she had two beers -- but a bartender said he remembered serving her 4 to 5 shots of hard liquor.
Holler's blood alcohol level nine hours after the crash was 0.123, about 50 percent above the legal limit of 0.08.
Outside investigators handled the case because Holler was related to a Chippewa County sheriff's employee.
