MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - A Milwaukee man will not get a new trial for killing his girlfriend with an ice pick while their three children hid in a closet and heard the whole thing.
The First District Appeals Court Tuesday upheld a homicide conviction against 66-year-old Eddie Lee Anthony. He's serving a life prison term, after he was found guilty in the 2010 death of 43-year-old Sabrina Junior.
Prosecutors said Anthony stabbed the woman 45 times during an argument.
The appellate court refused to buy Anthony's claim that he should have been allowed to testify that he acted in self-defense. He also said prosecutors were wrong not to include an African-American minister in his jury.
