MADISON, Wis. (WSAU) -- An email sent by a Governor Walker staff member in 2010 cost him his job. Former Chief Legal Counsel John Schulze was dismissed a couple of days after sending a joke by email which Walker officials say was in poor taste. The Governor’s chief of communications Tom Evenson says “there is no room for this poor conduct” in their administration.
The offending email was sent in March of 2010, and suggested legalizing prostitution as a tourist attraction in Wisconsin Dells, and the employment opportunities this would have for people on welfare.
The dismissal of Schulze came to light when the email was discovered as part of the document release from when Walker’s staff was investigated for possible illegal campaign activities while he was the Milwaukee County Executive.
