EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn (WSAU-Wheeler News)  Minnesota authorities are still looking for answers about a high-speed chase early Friday that killed a Wisconsin woman and her boyfriend. The victims were identified over the weekend as 34-year-old Dawn Pfister of Elkhorn and 36-year-old Matthew Serbus. Authorities said they led officers on a chase at up to 90-miles-an-hour on Highway 212 near Eden Prairie Minnesota during the Friday morning rush hour. Their car reportedly rear-ended a vehicle that spun into a guard-rail.

Authorities used spikes to stop the pursued auto. It slammed into a wall after two of its tires were punctured. When Pfister and Serbus got out, they were shot. It's not clear if the couple was killed by police, or if Serbus had killed Pfister. Over a dozen shots were fired after the chase ended.

A Minnesota state trooper is on administrative leave along with a Carver County deputy and two Chaska police officers.

On Facebook the woman said she began a relationship with Serbus just last month. Pfister was the mother of two kids, ages 9-and-12. She was charged in Walworth County last year with felony drug possession, misdemeanor counts of having marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She had a trial set for March 17th on three charges. Serbus had a criminal history dating back to 1999 which included drug, theft, and burglary convictions.

Both Pfister and Serbus had arrest warrants pending in Olmsted County Minnesota.
