LITTLE CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) - A Fox Valley day care center, which offered care for children and adults with special needs, abruptly announced Thursday they would close permanently.
Haven of Hope in Little Chute was mostly paid for by donations.
In a statement, Haven of Hope officials said in part: "We are deeply apologetic to inform our families, donors and employees of this decision. All of us have been working hard toward a different outcome, but in the end weren't able to come to another solution."
The board of directors continues to look into all options for the future of the organization. The center was closed due to lack of funds to continue to operate. The center was paid for mostly by donations.
The board of directors is trying to find a successor organization or agency to take over operations.
Employees say they are trying to find alternatives for the families they served. They also recommend anyone affected by the closure call 211 for a list of other resources.
