Milwaukee's five game winning streak came to a painful end Wednesday afternoon at Miller Park as the Toronto Blue Jays unloaded on Brewer pitchers in the 9-5 victory. Jimmy Nelson (2-4) took the loss, working five and two thirds innings, giving up four runs. Toronto scored twice in the 5th to tie the game but Milwaukee went back up in the bottom half. Nelson got into trouble in the sixth and was relieved by Zach Duke who gave up back to back singles including a go ahead RBI from Jose Reyes. Brandon Kintzler was next and he served up a three run shot by Jose Bautista to cap a five run rally. Carlos Gomez pulled the Brewers within two with a two run homer, his 21st of the year. Colby Rasmus punctuated the afternoon with a two run bomb off Will Smith in the 9th. Gerrardo Parra had a double and triple and scored two runs but the offense wasn't the issue. Milwaukee dropped three of four meetings this season with Toronto but finished interleague play with an 11-9 record. The Brewers (71-56) now lead the St. Louis Cardinals by just a game and a half as St. Louis finished off a sweep of Cincinnati 7-3. After an off day Thursday, the Brewers welcome the Pittsburgh Pirates to Miller Park for a three game, weekend series.
