MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - The closing of the Cargill meat packaging plant in Milwaukee leaves 600 workers looking for a job. Others are forced into early retirement.
The company blames a national beef shortage.
Of Cargill’s 13 operations in Wisconsin, only two were beef packaging facilities.
The company has promised to try to help those workers find a new job, but for those who want to remain in Wisconsin and continue to work for Cargill, the options will be limited.
