The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Major League Baseball non-waiver trading deadline by acquiring a veteran outfielder from the Arizona Diamondbacks.   General Manager Doug Melvin picked up 27 year old Gerardo Para from Arizona in exchange for two minor league prospects.  Parra has played all three outfield position in his career and has won a pair of Gold Glove awards.  He's hitting .259 this season with six home runs and 30 runs batted in.  He's expected to provide a left handed bat off the bench and would be able to spell any of the current starters, Khris Davis, Carlos Gomez and Ryan Braun.  Melvin gave Arizona outfielder Mitch Haniger with AA Huntsville and left handed pitcher Anthony Banda now with the Wisconsin TimberRattlers in single A.   To make for Para on the roster, Milwaukee optioned Logan Schafer to AAA Nashville.  Para is expected in uniform Friday night when the Brewers open a critical three game series against St. Louis.  The Cardinals trail Milwaukee by two games in the division race.  Wily Peralta faces Adam Wainwright in the series opener.  Pre-game coverage begins at 6:40 PM on WTAQ.
