The WIAA held it's annual meeting Wednesday in Stevens Point but failed to take a vote on what could become a contensious issue. A proposal to create a 1.65 multiplier for the state's private schools when it comes to determining placement in tournament divisions based on enrollment was instead directed to a yet to be formed committee for further study. The WIAA requested that committee come back with a reccomendation by September 1 of this year. The meeting drew an unusually high turnout of 432 schools and the issue was moved on a 355-77 vote. Membership did reaffirm the WIAA's hold on determining conference realignment proposals. A motion to have individual schools determine their own conference affiliations was roundly defeated 400-26.
