Brewers slugger Ryan Braun getting boo treatment on the road

PHILADELPHIA (WTAQ) - Bob Uecker doesn't have to say a word.

You know Ryan Braun's coming up to bat when you hear a Milwaukee Brewers' road game on the radio, and the crowd gives its screeching boos.

Braun is back after a 65 game suspension for taking synthetic testosterone in 2011 and then lying about it for almost two years.

The boos will be louder on some occasions than others. But even after Braun hit three homers and tied a team record with seven RBI's Tuesday, the boo-birds were still out at Philadelphia.

Braun says the nay-sayers motivate him, and he really does enjoy the atmosphere. His manager, Ron Roenicke, has no doubt about that. He says players like Braun are true competitors who turn it up when they're challenged and, "You don't want to be messing with him."

Braun says he can't silence the paying customers, so he may as well use it to his advantage if he can.

The 2011 National League MVP says it's nothing new. Road fans have booed him ever since his positive drug test result came out in late 2011.
