The UW Green Bay Mens basketball team will continue to call the Resch Center home for the next five years after a contract extension was announced Thursday by the University and PMI, owners of the arena. PMI President Ken Wachter said he's pleased to have Division I basketball at the Resch long term, capping a big month for the facility, booking a Bon Jovi concert along with getting an agreement to continue hosting WIAA girls state volleyball and basketball tournaments through 2020. Interim Athletic Director Dan McIver said it's important to have the team continue at a first rate facility in the heart of the Lambeau Field entertainment district. Head Coach Brian Wardle said no consideration was given to playing any or all games at the on campus Kress Events Center. He said the team loves playing at the Resch, where it has won over 75% of it's game. Wardle says the 10,000 seat arena helps schedule major programs like Wisconsin and Virginia who are on on the home schedule this season.
