The Milwaukee Brewers opened a season ending four game series in New York against the Mets Thursday night with a 4-2 victory. Milwaukee scored all four runs in the second inning, highlighted by Scooter Gennett's two run single. Alfredo Figaro got the win in relief of starter Johnny Hellweg who struggled to find the plate. Hellweg lasted only four innings, giving up just a run on two hits but he walked four batters and hit two. After hitting David Wright in the head, he plunked the next batter. Wright had to leave the game but reportedly checked out fine. Jim Henderson finished up for his 27th save. Carlos Gomez was out of the lineup, suspended one game for his role in the bench clearing brawl in Atlanta Wednesday night. Milwaukee (72-87) will send Yovani Gallardo to the mound in game two Friday night. Pre-Game coverage begins at 5:35 PM on WTAQ.
