The Milwaukee Brewers snapped the St. Louis Cardinals' five game winning streak and avoided a sweep at Busch Stadium with a 5-3 victory Thursday night. Sean Halton drove in three runs with a second inning single and two run homer in the 4th. Aramis Ramirez gave starter Tyler Thornburg an early lead with an RBI single in the first. Thornburg pitched six innings, allowing two runs on six hits for his second victory. Nori Aoki capped the offense with an RBI triple in the 9th. Joe Kelly took the loss for St. Louis which fell back into a tie for first in the NL Central with Pittsburgh as the Pirates defeated the Chicago Cubs 3-1. Milwaukee (63-82) returns home for a weekend series with the Cincinnati Reds. Kyle Lohse will be on the mound at Miller Park for the Friday night opener against Matt Latos.
