GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The KI Convention Center will continue to be called that after Krueger International agreed to extend their naming rights deal by another 20 years.
KI's current naming rights expire in about five years.
The deal will cover $2 million of the costs associated with the convention center’s expansion that begins construction in November. KI has agreed to provide $1.1 million in cash payments and another $900,000 in furnishings.
The city has been using just over $12 million in hotel room tax money and using state funds and city financing to cover the rest of the project.
The nearly $20 million expansion will double the size convention center.
Construction will hopefully be complete by the spring of 2015.
