APPLETON, WI (WTAQ) - The man charged in an attack at an Appleton park has agreed to a plea deal.
On Friday, Thomas Pruett pled no contest to a count of substantial batter. As part of the deal, a hate crime enhancer has been dropped.
Pruett is scheduled to be sentenced October 16.
Pruett attacked a person who was born a man, but now identifies as a woman.
Police said Pruett was upset the victim was using the 'wrong' bathroom.
The victim was left with a broken eye socket bone, cuts and bruises.
