The WIAA Boys State Soccer Tournament resumed with Regional finals Thursday night. The third ranked NEW Lutheran Blazers scored 4 goals in a five minute span of the second half to beat Kewaunee 5-0 to advance to next week's Division 4 sectionals. The Blazers will meet conference rival Sturgeon Bay next, a 2-1 overtime winner against Menasha St. Mary's. In Division 3, Green Bay Notre Dame shut out Wrightstown 2-0. The Tritons will face New Holstein next, a 3-1 winner over Luxemburg-Casco. There were a couple of thrillers in Division 2. Miguel Vergara-Haro tallied the only goal of the game, in overtime, as Green Bay East defeated Watertown 1-0 to capture the Red Devils' first regional soccer title since 1990. Pulaski's Zach Habeck did the same, scoring the overtime game winner in the Red Raiders' 1-0 victory over Hortonville. Osvaldo Ramirez netted a hat trick to carry West De Pere past Oshkosh North 3-1. Cedarburg defeated Green Bay Southwest 5-1 and Slinger ended De Pere's season 2-1. In Division 1, Neenah slipped past Bay Port 3-2 while Green Bay Preble's Evan Garcio scored with 1:21 to play, lifting the second seeded Hornets past Appleton North 1-0. Sectional semifinals are next Thursday.
