GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The Green Bay Packers’ defense is hurting, but team officials are confident the young guys will step up.
Coach Mike McCarthy says linebackers Clay Matthews and Brad Jones are out with injuries for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Third-year pro Jamari Lattimore is slated to make his first NFL start for the injured Jones (hamstring). The undrafted defensive end from Middle Tennessee State converted to outside linebacker when he signed with the Packers in 2011.
McCarthy says Matthews will miss three to four weeks for surgery on his thumb. Nick Perry is scheduled to take over Matthew’s spot, while Mike Neal will fill the left side.
