GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) - The Green Bay Redevelopment Authority has approved a recommendation for the city to purchase the building that is currently occupied by the downtown Coaches Corner.
The committee met Tuesday and took action on numerous items related to the expansion of the KI Convention Center.
The Coaches Corner building site is part of the estimated $25 million expansion project that would double meeting room space.
If approved by city council, the building would be purchased for $375,000. It would be razed to make way for the convention center’s new plaza area.
The expansion is extending west and connecting with the adjacent Clarion Hotel.
Meanwhile, the city has been working with the owner of the Coaches Corner business. They are trying to find a new home for the sports bar and restaurant in the downtown. Mayor Jim Schmitt says the owners have selected three sites and they need to make a decision.
