The first WIAA state tournament began Wednesday with the Girls High School Golf Regional meets. At Crystal Springs in Seymour, Green Bay Notre Dame rolled to the Division 1 team title with a score of 335, Bay Port was a distant second at 370. Green Bay Preble and the Green Bay Southwest/West teams also advanced to next week's sectional meet. Maddy Neumeier of Preble captured medalist honors with a 75, one stroke better than Jessie Staed of Notre Dame. At the Division 1 meet hosted by Town and Country Golf Club in Sheboygan, Kimberly capatured the team title with a score of 365, five strokes in front of Sheboygan North/South. De Pere and West De Pere also qualified as a team. The Redbirds' Megan Growt was medalist with an 81. The Division 1 Sectional meet will take place at Thornberry Creek.
