Shooting guard Cole Stefan is the latest player to leave the UW Green Bay Mens basketball program. The LaSalle transfer played just one season for the Phoenix, appearing in 19 games, averaging 3.4 points per game. Stefan asked head coach Brian Wardle to release him from his scholarship, saying he didn't think the Green Bay program was the right fit for him. He becomes the fifth player to leave the program in the past four months. Kam Cerroni quit the team in February, Sultan Muhammad left to move closer to his Detroit home. Nick Arenz and Ryan Bross opted to transfer and Brennan Cougill graduated. Bross and Cougill both filed complaints through their parents, alledging Wardle exacted verbal and emotional abuse against them. The University launched an investigation and the report, issued last week determined some of the allegations were difficult to confirm but Wardle was at times excessive particularly with offensive language. He was given a reprimand but will retain his job.
