DARLINGTON, WI (WTAQ) - Jurors from the Stevens Point area would hear the possible trial of an Argyle man accused of helping his brother burn down his house, and kill most of his family.
A judge in Darlington has ordered a jury to come from Portage County for the Lafayette County case of 18-year-old Jeremy Wand.
A week-long trial is scheduled to begin on July 15th.
Wand’s 33-year-old brother Armin was recently sentenced to three life prison terms plus 105 years.
Both men are accused of burning down Armin’s house, so he could collect insurance money and get a fresh start.
Authorities said Armin offered his brother $300 to help set the blaze.
The fire killed Armin’s three children and an unborn daughter. His wife, who has since filed for divorce, has recovered from serious burns. Their two-year-old daughter escaped unharmed.
As part of a plea deal, Armin Wand is expected to testify against his brother should a trial take place.
Jeremy Wand is charged with seven total counts of homicide, attempted homicide, and arson.
