CINCINNATI, OH (WTAQ) - Rookie Hiram Burgos just had “one of those games” for the Milwaukee Brewers in Saturday’s 13-7 loss at Cincinnati.
With the bullpen tired from all the work recently, Burgos wound up absorbing a pounding at Great American Ballpark, surrendering a dozen runs on 11 hits and three walks in 3 innings. He took the loss.
The Brewers had just four pitchers available in the bullpen.
Six different Reds batters knocked in two runs and the bottom five hitters in that lineup went 8-for-9 off Burgos.
Mat Latos got the win and kept his record perfect at 4-0. Milwaukee had scored twice in the top of the first, but the home-standing Reds crossed the plate 5 times in the 2nd and seven more in the 3rd.
Jean Segura and Norichika Aoki had home runs for the Brewers.
