MILWAUKEE (WTAQ) - It was 11 years ago Friday when Alexis Patterson disappeared in Milwaukee, soon after her stepfather walked her to the Hi-Mount Elementary School.
She was 7 at the time – and despite exhaustive searches and investigations, authorities say they’ve never found a trace of her.
Friday morning, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke and his commanders attended a remembrance ceremony outside the school. Family members joined them, as a wreath was laid.
Friday night, a public gathering will be held at Milwaukee’s Haven of Rest Baptist Church to remember Alexis – who’d be 18 today.
On the 10th anniversary a year ago, sheriff’s officials said they never stopped getting tips about the disappearance. The department is still offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Alexis.
