The 3rd seeded Marquette Golden Eagles are one game away from their first final four in a decade after beating second seeded Miami of Florida 71-61 in the East Regional Semifinals in Washington D.C. Thursday night. Marquette (26-8) put on an impressive display on both ends of the floor, leading 29-16 at the half and holding the Hurricanes to 21% shooting. They built the lead to as much as 22 and coasted to the victory. Jamil Wilson led the offensive attack with 16 points, Vander Blue and Devante Gardner chipped in with 14. Marquette repeatedly got good looks at the hoop and when Miami pressed in the second half, the Golden Eagles broke it cleanly for layups. They will meet Big East rival Syracuse in the Regional final Saturday after the Orange knocked out number one seeded Indiana 61-50.
