BRILLION, WI (WTAQ) - About 46 workers are being laid off at Brillion Iron Works.
That's after the company initially estimated the number to be 60 workers.
Company officials say the layoffs, which are expected to be temporary, are the result of lower orders from Brillion's customers in the mining and construction markets.
Brillion Iron Works says it expects demand to rise again later this year, and the company plans to bring workers back when that happens.
A security officer at Brillion Iron Works confirmed the company is on a week-long furlough that began Monday.
Layoffs would begin next Monday, April 1.
