PHOENIX (WTAQ) - Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo looked like he is ready for the season opening with a strong spring training outing against the Cubs Friday.

Chicago won the game 4-1, but Gallardo allowed only one unearned run and 4 hits in five-and-a-third innings. He has one more spring training appearance before he takes the mound for his 4th opening day starting assignment.

Carlos Villanueva picked up the win for Chicago with 6 scoreless innings.

Khris Davis accounted for the Brewers only run with a solo home run in the 7th inning. It was his sixth of the spring, but manager Ron Roenicke says Davis still isn’t guarantee a roster spot.
