MAPLEWOOD, MN (WSAU) - The search continues for a former Wausau area woman’s body in the Twin Cities area.
Kira Steger Trevino is presumed dead and her husband Jeffrey is in jail charged with killing her. The search for Kira’s body continues. Family members and even some total strangers have been searching for her.
This weekend, they went through Fort Snelling State Park in St. Paul Saturday and police searched a nearby body of water after getting a tip. Sunday’s search included Keller Regional Park in Maplewood a few minutes from the Trevino home after police received another lead. Again, no signs of the missing woman. St. Paul police did say an “item of interest” that led them to Keller Park is being examined by Minnesota’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
30-year-old Kira Trevino has been missing since February 24th when she left work at the Mall of America.
So far, St. Paul police have received over 100 tips from the public, but none of them have led to solving the mystery of the missing 2001 D.C. Everest graduate.
