CHICAGO (WTAQ) - A malfunction in Chicago is being blamed for a large Internet service outage in eastern Wisconsin.

Time Warner Cable customers lost their Web service around 5 p.m. Monday.

Company spokeswoman Marci Pelzer said it was caused by a hardware failure at a facility in Chicago – and everybody was back on line just over an hour after the outage began.
