UPDATE: Manitowoc crash kills two men

MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) - A crash in Manitowoc early Sunday leaves two people dead.

Police say it happened around 2:45 a.m. on 9th and Huron streets.

Four people were traveling northbound in a Cadillac on North 9th Street at a high speed and failed to stop at the stop sign at Huron Street. The car then struck a Chevrolet with three occupants in it.

Officials say the Cadillac then hit a snowbank and overturned and the other car ended up in a yard.

The Chevrolet's driver, 23-year-old Christopher Mark of Manitowoc, and one of his passengers, 24-year-old Zachary Gates of Two Rivers, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third passenger in the car, a 21-year-old Newton man, was flown to a Green Bay hospital with serious injuries.

The three passengers in the Cadillac were taken to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the Cadillac's driver, a 21-year-old Manitowoc man, was not injured and taken to jail on two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and four other charges related to alcohol.

Manitowoc police are still investigating the crash.
