Cocaine bust in Sheboygan County leads to three arrests

SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) - Authorities with the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit say three men have been arrested as part of a months-long cocaine investigation.

The men were arrested after arranging to buy nearly a pound of cocaine at a Sheboygan County location on Thursday.

The three Sheboygan men, ages 25, 31 and 23, were arrested. Officers then searched three homes and a restaurant where one of the men worked in Sheboygan County. Investigators say cocaine was delivered outside the restaurant several times. Officers took more than three pounds of cocaine, a pound and a half of marijuana, two vehicles and more than $2,000 in cash.

The case started last December, when investigators say they identified a group involved in a cocaine trafficking operation in Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties.

During the investigation, cocaine was sold to undercover officers 6 times in the Manitowoc County community of Cleveland and in Sheboygan County. Over the course of the investigation, officers took around 4 pounds of cocaine, worth about $65,000 on the street.

The men have been identified as Julian Perez Jr., Alfredo Hernandez-Benitez and Joe Alvarez-Gonzales. Each is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.

No charges have been filed yet. All three are scheduled to make their initial appearances in court on Monday.

U.S. immigration officials are investigating two of the men who were arrested. None of the men’s names have been released.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation and Sheboygan Metropolitan Enforcement Group helped in the investigation.
